Laser Cutting

What is a laser cutting machine?

Laser cutting machines are a tool used in a wide range of industries for precision cutting and designing projects. The laser cutting machine emits a high-powered laser beam to either cleanly cut or etch a specific design on materials such as steel, plastic, or wood.

The advantages of a laser when cutting

  1. Suitable for many types of materials

  2. No post-processing is necessary

  3. High accuracy

  4. No tool wears

What materials can be cut with the laser?

The versatility of materials that can be processed is one of the great advantages of the laser.

  1. Plastic: Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, Polyethylene terephthalate, Acrylic, Polyimides, Rubber, Polyoxymethylene, Polyester, Polypropylene.

  2. Metals

  3. Miscellaneous:  Wood, paper, food, Leather, fabric, cork, Cardboard.

Warnings

The laser cutting machine might be very dangerous so you need to check the laser before and after you use it.  Do not turn on the laser before you turn on the main switch, do not open the top with the laser button while it’s on. Put the gas pipe outside the window or door. Make sure there is enough water in the water tank.

How does it work?

We will use our team experience to show you how laser cutting machine works

Step 1

First, we need to set the parameters: according to your software and hardware set the dimensions, the speed, and the power. Here we used an industrial use laser cutting machine with AWC7824K digital display control panel, for the design part you can use Laser CAD, Auto CAD, Fusion 360, CorelDraw, or any other software compatible with these formats AI, PLT, DXF.

Step 2

Make your design using one of the software we mentioned above, we use we used fusion 360 to design a box that we used in a Baby Cradle Project. Then convert the components into drawings and save them as DXF files.

Step 3

Open the file in Laser CAD, make sure the parameters you set didn’t change the power and speed, and download them into the laser cutter, then cut it.
